Induction program for Newly Arrived Students: Aberdeen Fishing village Cultural Experience

Beyond the Classroom 🌊 | A Warm Welcome & Cultural Journey in Aberdeen Fishing Harbour
Adaptation begins with experience! To help our newly arrived students smoothly transition into their new school life and discover Hong Kong’s rich heritage as a historic fishing village, our Learning Ethos and Support Team and Student Guidance and Home-School Cooperation Team organized an immersive Cultural Experience Day on September 12 at Aberdeen Fishing Harbour. ⚓️
✨ Highlights of the Day:
🎣 Cultural Heritage: Students boarded traditional fishing vessels and learned the art of marinating salted fish directly from local residents, exploring the unique maritime food culture.
📏 Marine Conservation: Instructors introduced the concept of "catch the big, let the small go" using measurement tools, instilling crucial sustainability values in our young minds.
🍲 Authentic Flavors: The tour ended with a bowl of traditional Boat Noodles (Boat Jai Fan) simmered in fresh fish broth—a delicious taste of Hong Kong's authentic heritage!
We are dedicated to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and enriching environment for every student. Through hands-on learning and holistic care, we empower students to learn, grow, and thrive together. ❤️
